The report "" (March 2016) from Health Canada "...is a comprehensive review and analysis of the potential adverse health effects associated with diesel fuel use in Canada. The report focuses on diesel exhaust (DE) emissions from on-road and off-road vehicles (excluding rail and marine applications) and targets impacts resulting from general population exposures." Among other findings, the report concludes: Other determinations in the report include likely/suggestive relationships between DE exposure and cardiovascular, immunological, reproductive and developmental, and central nervous system effects. California Increases Taxes on Diesel Fuel

Effective November 1, 2017, California increased both the Excise Tax and the Sales and Use Tax on diesel fuel.  The Excise Tax is now 36 cents/gallon, up from 16 cents/gallon.  The Sales and Use Tax is 13%, up from 9%. Read the full tax update here.  Diesel tax information can be found on page 3.

The Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach unanimously approved the 2017 Clean Air Action Plan (CAAP) Update which “provides high-level guidance for accelerating progress toward a zero-emission future”.  Particularly relevant to Orange EV: Beginning in 2020, terminal operators must purchase the cleanest equipment available when procuring new cargo-handling equipment (zero emission, if feasible).
