Kansas City, Missouri-based Orange EV has emerged as a US leader of operational Zero-Emission Trucks (ZETs), according to a published inventory of Class 2b-8 zero-emission trucks (ZETs) from CALSTART, a non-profit consortium.
CALSTART‘s “Zeroing in on Zero-Emission Trucks” provides insight on ZET market trends as the industry prepares for an injection of federal funding for charging infrastructure, multiple states implement clean truck regulations, and California prepares to release an additional $873 million in purchase incentives for commercial vehicles and infrastructure.
Together over 60% of ZETs that have been deployed in the United States are believed to be currently non-operational. However, of all operational ZETs, Orange EV had the most deployed vehicles in the United States with 162 at press time. To date Orange EV has actually deployed 370 trucks with more orders coming.
This year Orange EV celebrates 10 years in business. As of January 2022, the deployed Orange EV fleet has surpassed 1.2 million hours and 4.2 million miles of operation.
Orange EV electric truck lifetime savings can be as much as $500,000, over an expected life of 10 years of operation.
