After announcing an order for 96 battery electric tractors for APM Terminals Port Elizabeth, Orange EV has revealed that Packer Avenue Marine Terminal in South Philadelphia has ordered a fleet of 24 machines.
Greenwich Terminals LLC, operator of the Packer Avenue Marine Terminal, has ordered 24 Orange EV HUSK-e XP battery electric terminal tractors, marking a major step in the terminal’s transition away from diesel equipment. The order is backed by a $79.7 million EPA Clean Ports Program grant awarded to PhilaPort in 2024 for zero-emission upgrades across its terminals.
As part of the initiative, Packer Avenue will scrap 10 older diesel tractors, with this order representing the first phase of repling its roughly 50-unit diesel tractor fleet.
